We just had the most amazing day at Perth Zoo and the best part? Thanks to ServiceWA, we scored free tickets and saved almost $200! What a fantastic treat for the whole family.

It had been over ten years since our last visit, and we were all excited to see what had changed. Our little trooper, Tyson, who’s just four, was eager to walk the entire zoo alone. We were so proud of him for toughing it out and keeping up with the group!

African Savannah

Tyson was absolutely thrilled to see the Giraffes. His eyes widened in amazement as he watched them reach for leaves high in the trees. He kept saying, “Look how big they are!” It was a joy to see his excitement, and it sparked curiosity in all of us.

But the real highlight of the day was the Rhinoceros and Hyena’s. Tyson was absolutely captivated! We spent a good amount of time watching the rhino move around, and he couldn’t stop talking about how big and strong they looked. It was heartwarming to see him so engaged with the animals.

Kane, Harley, and the twins, Hemi and Tahnee, loved the Rhino enclosure, They were all fascinated by the sheer size of him. We took some great photos and videos as we laughed and learned together.

Arriving early to the hyena feeding was an unexpected treat, as we had the chance to observe these fascinating creatures up close. Their sharp, curious eyes glimmered with excitement, and we marveled at their playful antics and vocalizations, a mix of whoops and giggles that echoed through the enclosure. Watching them interact, jostling for position and playfully nudging each other, offered a rare glimpse into their social dynamics, making the experience both educational and exhilarating. It was a reminder of the wild beauty of nature, right before our eyes.

Asian Rainforest

the Asian rainforest exhibit captivates visitors with its lush greenery and vibrant atmosphere, mimicking the dense ecosystems found across Southeast Asia. Children were particularly fascinated by the sun bears and the komodo dragon, despite the animals’ leisurely behavior. The sun bears, with their unique, expressive faces, lounged in the shade, while the Komodo dragon basked in the sun, exuding a sense of quiet power. The kids watched intently, imagining the adventures these creatures might have in their natural habitats, turning their seemingly idle moments into a source of wonder and curiosity. The exhibit not only showcases the beauty of these remarkable animals but also sparks a deeper appreciation for wildlife conservation.

Australian Bushwalk

The Australian bushwalk at Perth Zoo offers an immersive experience into the heart of Australia’s unique wildlife, making it a perfect way to see a variety of species all in one stroll. As families wander along the winding paths, they encounter an array of fascinating animals, including the striking white kangaroos that left the kids in awe with their unusual appearance. Tyson was particularly thrilled to spot an emu, his eyes wide with disbelief at the bird’s impressive size. The bushwalk not only showcases iconic Australian fauna but also creates lasting memories for young explorers, sparking their curiosity and love for the natural world.

Everyone had a blast exploring the zoo together. Kane and Harley reminisced about their childhood visits, while it felt like Hemi and Tahnee were discovering the wonders of wildlife for the first time. We loved sharing stories and creating new memories as a family.

After hours of walking and exploring, we left with tired legs but full hearts. Our day at Perth Zoo was a beautiful reminder of the joy of family adventures and the importance of connecting with nature. We can’t wait for our next outing, who knows where our next adventure will take us!
